Congratulations to Jermey and Laura on their new daughter.

***** Jeremy and Laura would like to thank all WLAC parents, athletes, and executive members for their love, support, and gifts in celebration of the birth of their first child Jacquelyn Taylor Yates.  Thanks everybody.  She's already showing great promise as a sprinter even at 3 weeks of age.
 
 
1. Congratulations to the following WLAC Major Award nominees that will be presented at the Awards Banquet in November. The awards presentations will be held at the Woodstock Legion on November 4th at 7pm. All are invited to attend.
 
Female MVP: Chelsea Lynes, Kaitlin Wilhelm, Tricia MacKay
 
Male MVP: Branden Wilhelm, Scott Rumble, Garrick Byers
 
Most Improved: Scott Rumble, Ashly Paquette, Coby DeGier

2. Congratulations to the WLAC athletes on their success at the OTFA Championships in Windsor. The team finished 14th Overall in Ontario this year,with the Bantam team finishing 3rd overall. The team was led by several medal winning and club record performances including Kaitlin Wilhelm (80mH, 200m, 200mH, Triple Jump, High Jump, and Shot Put) Chelsea Lynes (1500mS/C), Tricia MacKay (Javelin), Karleigh Parker (Javelin and Discus), Ashly Paquette (Pole Vault), Branden Wilhelm (High Jump and 200mHurdles) Josh Wyatt (100m), and Scott Rumble (Javelin).
 
3. Congrats to Tricia MacKay and Branden Wilhelm who both earned Bronze Medals at the Ontario Legion Champs.
 
4. Congratulations to the 7 WLAC athletes who qualified for the Ontario Legion Championships in Timmins July 14-15th.  The club will be represented in the Under 15 girls category by Chelsea Lynes in the 800m and 1500m, Karleigh Parker in the Javelin, Triple Jump, and Long Jump, and Sarony Blacklock in the Long Jump and Triple Jump.  In the Under 17 Girls category Tricia MacKay will compete in the Javelin, Discus, and Pole Vault, and Ashly Paquette in the Pole Vault, Triple Jump, and Long Jump.  Finally in the Under 15 boys category the club will be represented by Branden Wilhelm in the High Jump and 300m Hurdles, and Jordan Ruby in the Javelin. Congrats and best of luck.
 
5. Congratulations to Kaitlin Wilhelm, Branden Wilhelm, and Garrick Byers on winning medals in the Ontario Combined Events Championships on June 10th. Kaitlin won gold in the Bantam Girls division setting a club record with her total points score and a club record in the 200m, while Branden won a silver in the midget boys division, also setting a club record with his score, but more importantly set a Midget Boys Under 15 Ontario record.  Garrick won a silver medal in the Bantam boys division.
 
6. Congratulations to Garrick Byers who won two silver medals in Bantam Boys Long and Triple Jumps at the OTFA championships held in Windsor March 4-5th.  Kaitlin Wilhelm also won a gold and silver in the High Jump and triple jump respectively.  Check out all WLAC results on www.otfa.ca .  
 
 7. Welcome to new members of the Competitive team Trenton Wayne, Garrick Byers, Alex Kominek, Josh Newberry, Sarah Haverkamp, David Haverkamp, Steven Haverkamp, Elizabeth Jensen, Jordan Ruby, Madalyn Ruby, Scott Rumble, and Ashly Paquette.
